Serbia acts well toward asylum seekers in transit and cares for their well being while they are in its territory, said the UNHCR representative in Belgrade.

"Serbia treats asylum seekers well"
He said that the cooperation between the Serbian government and the UNHCR will continue both in terms of addressing the problem of a considerable inflow of asylum seekers and the long-term displacement and statelessness, reads a statement issued by Udovicki's office.Schodder qualified as positive Serbia's activities on reducing the number of stateless and internally displaced people, particularly of Romani people.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the beginning of the implementation the Regional Housing Program in Serbia and continuation of cooperation in this respect, said the statement.
The Human Rights NGO recently criticized the Serbian authorities in a report, saying they were "mistreating" illegal migrants.
