Workers injured in accident in Russia return

The Serbian government has declared

Thursday a day of mourning.

Those who returned to the country late on Tuesday did not wish to speak to the media.

The Serbian Labor Ministry's Inspectorate has filed two minor charges against responsible persons of the Beometalstroj d.o.o. company from Belgrade, that employed the construction workers and sent them to Russia.

The charges relate to the workers being offered permanent employment through an annex to their existing contract, "but without providing them with a written explanation about the reasons for the offered annex, length of employment, deadline for their decision, and legal consequences that could arise if the annex was not signed."

The other charge has to do with the employer "failing to train the workers for safe and healthy work."

Russian media previously reported that the six citizens of Serbia died in a fire at an oil station of the Transneft company on the Yamal Peninsula.
