The Serbian emergency headquarters has lifted the state of emergency in several municipalities in Serbia affected by the massive flooding in May.

State of emergency still in force in five municipalities

Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović said in a statement that the state of emergency remains in place in the Belgrade municipality of Obrenovac and in the municipalities of Bajina Bašta, Ljubovija, Krupanj, and Mali Zvornik in western Serbia.

"Leaving these decisions in place in these areas should contribute to post-disaster management efficiency," Stefanović said.

“We are doing this to help people perform rehabilitation tasks faster,” the minister added.
