Đoković trains in Belgrade, says he'll be ready for Rome

"I completed a session of stepped-up training today after sparing my arm for the past five or six days. I am pleased, everything went painlessly," Đoković told reporters after an open session at the Partizan Tennis Club in Belgrade, adding that he was "95 percent certain that he will play in Rome."

Đoković, currently rank as world No. 2, said that he was sorry to miss the Madrid tournament, but that his medical team had advised him to skip the event and prepare for Rome, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Speaking about Roland Garros - the only Grand Slam tournament he has not won in his career - Đoković said that he will do all he can to win that title.

"Without any doubt, Nadal is the absolute favorite to win, regardless of the defeats in Monte Carlo and Barcelona. Besides, there is Federer, and Wawrinka, who has matured mentally after winning the Australian Open and joined the 'big four'. Of course, there is also Murray and me, so it will depend on many factors," Đoković pointed out.

He said that he was delighted to train on the courts of Partizan - the club he grew up playing at - after ten years.

Đoković said that the battle to regain the world number one position is high on the list of his priorities, and that Boris Becker and Marian Vajda will be with him in Rome and Paris.

"There was an agreement beforehand for both of them to be with me at Roland Garros, and Rome will be the best final test for us to see how it works altogether. Becker is the head coach, but the significance of Vajda's role is a known fact and I hope that the collaboration will be successful," Đoković said.
