Christmas celebrated at Serbian Presidency

BELGRADE Orthodox Christmas, January 7, was celebrated in the Serbian Presidency building or the first time after the Second World War. On the second day of Christmas, when the Assembly of the Holy Virgin is marked, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic was the host of the ceremony in the presidency building in downtown Belgrade. Christmas celebrated at Serbian Presidency The ceremony was served by heads of the Cathedral Church Proto-presbyter Stavrophor Petar Lukic and Proto-presbyter Mile Milijancevic of the Ascension Church which holds patronage over the Presidency building. "May Our Lord bless this home and lend strength to the president to adopt wise and brave decisions for the sake of the Serbian people at these turbulent and delicate times," Milijancevic said. The prayer service was accompanied by the performance of the Belgrade First Singing Society as the choir of the Cathedral Church which was decorated by Nikolic by the medal for its contribution to culture.
