Belgrade Philharmonic performs in Croatia

The Belgrade Philharmonic, conducted by Muhai Tang and accompanied by Russian piano soloist Alexei Volodin performed in Zagreb, Croatia, on Monday evening. The concert was held before a full auditorium at the Vatroslav Lisinki concert hall. Belgrade Philharmonic performs in Croatia In its first concert in Zagreb in the past 30 years, the Belgrade Philharmonic performed Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and Liu Yuan's Train Toccata. The performance, which according to reports "the audience rewarded with 15 minutes of applause", was held as part of the regional project launched dubbed "Pika-Tocka-Tacka", launched by the philharmonic orchestras of Belgrade, Zagreb, and Ljubljana. Director of the Zagreb Philharmonic Miljenko Puljic told Tanjug that such regional tours should become a tradition and be considered a regular cultural event. Director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Ivan Tasovac is convinced the regional cooperation project between the national philharmonic orchestras of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia will take root and overcome any political disagreements in the region. "We have a five-year plan, and this is just the first stage and the first season. We have already announced the program for the entire next season, and I think the audience should be able to listen to the region's top three philharmonics with the same conductors and soloists and the same program," said Tasovac.
