The Gay-Straight Alliance NGO has announced it will organize a protest in front of the Serbian government in Belgrade on Wednesday. The reason for the protest will be last week's incident, when a woman was attacked for wearing a shirt promoting the LGBT movement. The goal of the gathering, said the organizers, will be to point out to an escalation of violence in society, especially that aimed against minority group, and demand from the state to solve the problem urgently. The NGO invited all those who are "fed up with violence and hatred" to join them tomorrow. "It will be a protest of those who do not turn their head the other way, who are not waiting for someone to be killed in order to react, and who do not wish to live in fear any longer," said the Gay-Straight Alliance in its statement issued today.
