Representatives of the UN Delegation to Serbia have promised to provide help to Kraljevo which was hit by a strong earthquake on November 3. The UN Delegation to Serbia, consisting of UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia William Infante, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), UN Development Program and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), visited Kraljevo, central Serbia, on Friday. UN to provide aid to earthquake-hit town After touring the city and meeting with Kraljevo leadership, representatives of the international organizations promised to provide aid to the city. “The UN will do all it can to help Kraljevo meet its priority needs, Infante said and added that the city services will draw up a list of priorities in which the UN will provide assistance shortly. The UN has already sent an aid package consisting of tents, blankets, mattresses and ovens to the city, which is aimed at providing emergency accommodation for people in Kraljevo. State Secretary for Public Administration and Local Self-Government Sanja Cekovic has announced that the Foreign Ministry will organize a donors’ conference on Tuesday, November 16, to which it will invite representatives of international organizations and all embassies in Serbia.
