The water level of the Sava and Danube Rivers in Belgrade have increased significantly over the last week of constantly rainy weather. The Interior Ministry has closed some of the roads and paths designated for vehicles along the rivers. Water on rise in Belgrade rivers The level of the Danube will reached its maximum near the border with Hungary in six days, while capacity will be reached in Novi Sad in 12 days, however, it is not expected that the river will be flooding over the protective barriers that have been set up. “For now, the water level in Serbia is not causing any problems. It is at its highest on the Sava near Sabac in the village of Provo, where an emergency situation has been announced,” Interior Minister sector chief for emergency situations Goran Nikolic said.
