A Delegation of workers from the Kursumlija-based Sedmi Jul company will speak with Labor and Social Policy Minister Rasim Ljajic on Monday. Union President Zivorad Veljovic says that the company’s workers will on Monday, February 1, gather in the hall of the Kursumlija municipal building where they will wait for the outcome of the negotiations. Workers to block town hall “If we do not reach an agreement and workers are not satisfied, we will block a part of the Kursumlija town hall the same day, and a complete blockade of the institution will follow,” he said. Workers of the company are demanding a new social program and the completion of court process against the former owner who alienated the entire capital of the factory, union officials said. Together with workers of the wood-processing factory Kopaonik, Sedmi Jul employees were blocking the Nis-Pristina highway for 12 days. The Economy Ministry has found a strategic partner for Kopaonik, SIMPO Furniture Company from Vranje, and solved the majority of the workers’ requests, while no solution has been offered for the Sedmi Jul yet. If the meeting is not successful, workers will not be able to be stopped by the government’s decision to ban blockades of important roads and state institutions. “We will block the town hall, so let the police beat us and arrest us, we are already dead anyway,” Veljovic said.
