Serbian tourists who survived a deadly traffic accident near Luxor in Egypt earlier this week are expected to soon leave hospital, reports said. All eight tourists treated for their injuries after their bus collided with a truck, killing nine Serbians on board, are now stable, and expected to be discharged in the next five to six days. Serbian tourists soon to leave hospital Serbian MFA Political Director Borislav Stefanovic said the state has provided air transportation and accommodation in Egypt for the families of the victims and the injured. A consular team is in that country, tasked with performing necessary administrative jobs in order to complete identification and transfer of those who perished in the crash, he explained. President Boris Tadic and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic yesterday visited the injured tourists. Meanwhile, it is still unclear how the accident happened. Ivica Nesic of Leskovac, who was lightly hurt, said that he believes the bus driver was unable to avoid the collision, which happened in a sharp left curve. Shortly before the crash, this eyewitness said, two heavy trucks drove toward the bus. The second truck attempted an overtake, "so it was hard to avoid the collision", Nesic was quoted as saying.
