An asthmatic patient in Valjevo, western Serbia, last night killed himself by jumping from a hospital window. The patient, identified as 30-year-old M.G., was admitted to the hospital's pulmonary ward "with aggravated primary illness", which was bronchial asthma. Patient commits suicide in hospital He was admitted on Saturday at around 20:00 CET "in a very serious condition, while staff on duty undertook all the necessary measures", the city hospital said. But the patient jumped from the first floor window at 23:35 CET, and died several hours later in the intensive care unit. The incident was reported to the police, while the investigative judge who took over the case has suggested a post mortem. M.G. was described by the hospital as a patient who has undergone "irregular bronchial asthma treatment for years", on several occasions "refusing hospital treatment". An ambulance crew visited him at his home last night at around 18:00 CET, but he refused to be taken to hospital. Several hours later, members of his family brought him there.
