AI critical of Serbian human rights record

In its annual report, Amnesty International (AI) has cited serious concerns over the state of human rights in Serbia, according to Voice of America. Stating that since the last report, Serbia and its government has failed to reach an agreement with Pristina regarding the future status of Kosovo, AI states that the uncertainty linked to status has increased concern over the plight of minorities and further human rights violations. AI critical of Serbian human rights record AI voices anxiety over the practice of leaving war crimes unpunished, and the discrimination of minority communities in Serbia. The organization also states its serious concern for the dissatisfaction of the chief Hague prosecutor over Serbia’s cooperation with the Tribunal, and over the fact that Ratko Mladic has yet to be extradited. The report adds that seven years after the investigation was opened, there have not been any indictments yet relating to the transportation of 900 bodies of murdered Kosovo Albanians to cooling facilities located in Serbia.
