Two organizers of the war veterans’ protest in Kursumlija were summoned for an interview to a local police station. Slavko Ilic and Dejan Milosevic were told to come to the station this morning and were reportedly put under pressure to end the protest. Ilic said that he and Milosevic had been met in the police station by the police chief, the district prosecutor, the municipal court president and the municipal assembly head. “They pressured us to leave the Town Hall promising to meet our demands,” said Ilic. “However, they also said criminal proceedings would be launched against us if we did not end the protest this very day,” he added. Several hundred ex-servicemen are still blocking the work of the local authorities, demanding their unpaid wages for service in Kosovo in 1999. B92 has learned that the health of several protesters has deteriorated, and that the emergency services have stationed their equipment in one of the Town Hall offices to attend to the ill.
