Mass murder suspect to give statement

Radosavljević, who attempted suicide, is now stable and lucid, and is communicating with medical staff, according to doctors.

The two persons who suffered life threatening injuries in the shooting rampage are also stable and will leave the ICU during the day or early Tuesday.

The nine victims of the Jabukovac massacre were laid to rest Sunday.

Minister calls for stricter weapons law

In the wake of the massacre, Interior Minister Dragan Jočić says that weapons possession law must be more restrictive.

Jočić attended the funerals of the victims, where he announced that stricter regulations on gun control will be implemented.

“That crime could not have been stopped, all we can do is pay our respects to the victims and try to do everything we can to make sure that something like this does not happen again,” he said.

“A law on weapons permits exists and took effect several years ago. I do not know, maybe the regulations for issuing rifles and pistols need to be stricter, and we have to work on taking weapons away from everyone involved in some kind of incident. That is prevention, ” Jočić said.

Nikola Radosavljević killed nine on Friday and wounded two other individuals. He is currently receiving treatment for wounds inflicted when trying to take his own life.
