Hunt for Mladić after tip-off

Belgrade daily Danas writes that the operation in the Mt. Cer region of western Serbia started Thursday.

Anonymous sources with the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) and Ministry of Defense also confirmed the operation took place.

Earlier, B92 reported that the search for the Hague fugitives carried out late Friday was fruitless.

A Serbian Army helicopter flew over the Mt. Cer region and Radovašnica and Petkovica monasteries situated there, but, according to other sources, it did not landed anywhere near those locations.

The locals said that such actions were frequent in the area, since underground military facilities were placed there.

They told Beta news agency that military helicopters were flying over the Mt .Cer region at least once a month, but added that “what was odd this time was that masked soldiers were seen in the area.”
