He was accused of malfeasance during the sale of land owned by the municipality of Budva, and entered a plea bargain last July.

It meant that Marovic would serve one year in prison and pay EUR 380,000 to the state.

RTCG cited information from the Montenegrin Ministry of Justice to report that Marovic allegedly wants to serve his prison time in Serbia.

Earlier in 2016, Svetozar Marovic, accused in the same case, signed a plea bargain agreeing to serve three years and eight months in prison.
