Earlier in the day, the media in Bosnia's Muslim-Croat entity (FBiH), and then in Banja Luka, the Serb Republic (RS) said the arrest was linked with the Jajinci case.

Mektic said that J.J., a Sarajevo native who lives in Banja Luka, is wanted in Serbia on suspicion that he committed several criminal acts related to illegal possession of weapons.

The suspect was questioned and then released, Mektic also revealed.

"In the request we have received from Serbia, he (Josilo) was not linked to the arms cache found in Jajinci near (Serbian) PM Aleksandar Vucic's family home or the weapons found in a New Belgrade garage. At least, the request did not state this, otherwise the proceedings would have been different," Mektic said.

Had Serbia requested a handover pursuant to a bilateral agreement between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, there would have been "serious talks about an extradition of the arrestee," Mektic said.
