Ruling DPS accuses minister of "siding with terrorists"

In a statement to the media, carried on Thursday by the Beta agency, the DPS said Danilovic "decided to transition from his role as interior minister directly to that of a lawyer to a group of foreign nationals whom the Supreme State Prosecution suspects of creating a criminal organization and attempting to carry out an act of terrorism."

"Such a case has not been recorded since there have been governments and terrorists - that someone whose job description is to protect the country from such dangers, would place themselves directly on the side of a suspected criminal groups and attempt to relativize suspicions about their guilt," the DPS said.

The statement came a day after the media in Montenegro published what they said were transcripts of communications between Serbian nationals arrested ahead of last Sunday's parliamentary elections in Montenegro. Later on Thursday, Danilovic reacted to say that the published transcripts were "a fraud meant to lead the investigation in the wrong direction."

The alleged recordings were to prove that former Serbian Gendarmerie commander Bratislav Dikic, who has been arrested in Montenegro, planned to "arrest" Djukanovic if he declared his party's victory.

"Based on available information this is a very intentional fraud about inserting into the transcript conversations between persons who could not have communicated," Danilovic told TV Vijesti on Wednesday.
