Croatian minister in another Ustasha-related scandal

The capital letter "U" is a symbols of Ustashas.

The picture was taken in Drage, Croatia, as a monument was unveiled to Miro Baresic, a Croatian Ustasha terrorist who in 1971 murdered Yugoslavia's ambassador in Stockholm.

The flag on which the word "FrankfUrt" is written has a coat-of-arms where the checkerboard pattern begins with a white field. This was the design of the Croatian coat-of-arms during the Independent State of Croatia (NDH).

The NDH was a WW2 Nazi-allied entity ruled by the Ustasha regime, that had death camps for Serbs, Jews, and Roma, including Jasenovac.

Commenting on the picture, Hasanbegovic told Tportal that the large crowd that gathered in Drage meant he "could not control with whom he was being photographed" - and that his position is that only officials state symbols should be displayed during "such and similar events."

Hasanbegovic has in the past openly promoted the WW2 Ustasha movement, and has since becoming a minister supported the revisionist film "Jasenovac: the Truth" which completely negates the scale of the Ustasha crimes committed during the Second World War.

Besides this, a photograph of Hasanbegovic wearing an Ustasha hat has been published in the media. He was also seen and photographed at a series of pro-Ustasha protests.

Australian-based publication called "Za Dom Spremni" ("For Home Ready" - the Ustasha greeting), once featured an article on Hasanbegovic, referring to him as "a hotshot."

Hazi hunter Efraim Zuroff, who heads the Israel office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, on several occasions asked for Hasanbegovic to be dismissed, reminding the Croatian government that Ustashas were criminals, not "heroes."
