The Croatian police announced on Friday they solved the case, adding that Dolacki, by virtue of his office, had access to these items that had been confiscated during criminal investigations.

"The suspect took them and kept them for himself - there is suspicion that he falsely presented the case as a robbery, and, using his position, made considerable financial gains," said the police.

The Croatian police will file a criminal complaint against Dolacki on suspicion that he abused his official position and powers.

Dolacki was suspended after the reported robbery, while Croatian Police Director Vlado Dominic, Zagreb Police Chief Goran Burusic, and two more MUP (Interior Ministry) officials resigned.
