Pedestrian manhandled, handcuffed for crossing against light

A woman working in a nearby store said her sister "saw the woman crossing the street while the red light was on, and a policeman, (weighing) about 130 kilograms, following right after her, asking her 'if she knew what she had done'."

"The woman said something in reply and walked on, but the policeman caught up with her, threw himself onto her with all his mass, pushed her onto the concrete in a passage, and handcuffed her."

A young man said he "attempted to intervene" by telling the policeman "to move up from the woman," to which the officer allegedly replied that "he should move away himself, or be arrested, too."

The local police said that "means of coercion had been used" and that an investigation was under way to determine the facts and whether the policeman's actions were justified, adding that "a video camera had been attached to his uniform the whole time."
