Mandic told reporters after exiting the building of the Supreme State Prosecution that the DF will now "continue to work on achieving freedom even more persistently than before," and added: "We will see this thing through to the end."

According to him, the DF will meet this evening to consider its future moves.

Earlier, another DF leader, Predrag Bulatovic, said that the opposition bloc will continue with its political struggle, but did not provide any details.

Bulatovic accused former Montenegrin police director Veselin Veljovic - who now serves as secretary of the Council for National Security of the Intelligence-Security Sector - of "being behind a criminal group of masked people who caused the unrest, which serves as the basis for the brutal reaction of the police."

Bulatovic called on the state prosecutor to question Deputy Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, whom he described as the person who gave Veljovic his orders.

Bulatovic also accused Montenegrin PM Milo Djukanovic of leading the country "to the brink of a state of emergency."

Protesters scuffled with the police as they attempted to enter the national assembly building during the opposition protest on Saturday in Podgorica, organized by the DF. Rioting then occurred in several parts of the town.

The Montenegrin government said on its Twitter account that demonstrators had "brutally attacked the police" and were "prevented from further attacking them," adding that some officers had been injured.

On the other hand, the demonstrators said that the police "intervened brutally" and used force, a huge amount of tear gas and stun grenades, making Podgorica "look like a warzone."
