Hungary will register all refugees who submit an application for asylum, and all those who are rejected will return to where they came from.

Szijjarto also described the fence that Hungary has raised along the border with Serbia as "efficient" - because without it "the 'green border' was completely open." He added that Budapest "will act in accordance with EU regulations, so it is absurd that it should be criticized in Brussels."

"We expect not to be criticized for our compliance with EU regulations, that is, for the campaign of lies against a country that adheres to EU regulations in a very serious situation to stop. We must take the Western Balkan migration route seriously," said Szijjarto.

He added that Hungary does not support the quota system for refugees favored by the European Commission, "because it believes that a policy based on mandatory quotas is doomed to failure."
