But the government in Ljubljana announced the following late on Thursday:

"Considering this is a sensitive foreign policy issue for relations in South Eastern Europe, that is of strategic importance to Slovenia, along with information that a majority of allied states will not participate with members of their armed forces in the parade on August 4 in Zagreb, the Slovenian government has decided that members of the Slovenian Army will not participate, either."

Previously, the Ministry of Defense announced that Slovenia would take part, which caused President Borut Pahor, who is also the army's commander-in-chief, to speak out against it. The government joined him in this stance with the decision they took on Thursday.
