20 sniper rifles stolen from Montenegrin police

20 sniper rifles and "a considerable amount of ammunition" have been stolen from a police warehouse located in the former Center of Security Podgorica building.

20 sniper rifles stolen from Montenegrin police

The article added that "it is suspected" the rifles, that came equipped with silencers, "ended up in the illegal market."

The police have launched an internal investigation and have taken statements from "a number of their colleagues and warehouse clerks who have the keys" - but there are still no "official suspects."

The Montenegrin police are yet to determine when the weapons went missing, and how much ammunition was taken during the theft that was "discovered by accident, when the warehouse got flooded."
