RS leader comments on "third Bosnian entity"

This was not the first time Dodik traveled to Guča for the festival, and he told reporters he returned "because this event contributes to preserving our traditions and is a good place that gathers the Serbian people."

"This event is dedicated to the spirit of the trumpet, and when that music is played here, it is heard around the world wherever there are Serbs," said Dodik, and noted Serbs on both sides of the Drina River were "equally good revelers."

He also commented on the current political situation in Bosnia, an in particular the possibility of creating the country's third entity. The post 1992-95 war Bosnia is made up of the Serb Republic (RS), and the Muslim-Croat Federation (FBiH).

"It is not on the agenda in the Serb Republic, but we support and we have no objection to the Croats gaining a third entity, in the Federation - without touching the RS. It does not interfere with our interests, if they can do it, let them, if not, there's nothing we can do about it," he said.

On Friday, Dodik was quoted as saying that "if the Croats want a third entity they should disassociate within the Federation, with the Muslims."

"Such a sequence of events would even suit the RS and the Serb people as a whole, because the Croat people would in this way be an important factor on the federal level, and in the framework of a fluid union of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which should be composed of three entities, three states, three republics, or something like that," he stated.
