Murder of teen not ethnically motivated - Albanian party
The murder of a Macedonian teenager for which an Albanian has been arrested as a suspect was not ethnically motivated, the Albanian DUI party has said.

18-year-old Angel P. was stabbed several times in the heart with a knife and died of his wounds. The police on Monday arrested a suspect they identified as 19-year-old N.E., a resident of the village of Grchec. The police are yet to recover the murder weapon.According to the Macedonian police, the suspect stole a bicycle from the yard of the victim's family home, and when confronted by Angel P. and his father, stabbed him several times.
The DUI party said on Thursday they also condemned the violence and unrest that erupted in a Skopje suburb after the murder.
"We are monitoring careful and with concern the events of the past days in the neighborhood of Djorche Petrov. The public has been shocked with the murder of a young man and expresses its condolences and condemnation, but according to official information, the murder has neither ethnic nor religious background," the party said, and added:
"Inter-ethnic coexistence represents a value that requires our care and dedication, without forgetting that the behavior of each individual can directly jeopardize these relations."
The police in Skopje said on Wednesday that the situation was peaceful and under control in Djorche Petrov, and that neither civilians nor police officers had been injured during the riots, when 27 people were arrested.
