PODGORICA 18 passengers died on Sunday when a Romanian bus fell into the Moraca River canyon, on the Kolasin-Podgorica road in Montenegro. Four others are in a life-threatening condition, it has been reported. 18 Romanians die in bus crash in Montenegro 28 passengers sustained more moderate injuries. The scene of the crash (Beta/AP) The accident happened around 17:00 CET on Sunday when the bus exited a tunnel and drove through the guardrail on the left side and fell down a ravine some 30 to 40 meters from the road. The cause of the accident remains officially unknown at this time, but Podgorica-based daily Vijesti is reporting that the bus was speeding on a slippery road. One of the passengers, Carmen Dorobec from Bucharest, told the newspaper: "We were supposed to stay in Montenegro five days. Everything happened fast, the driver was driving a little faster when the bus skidded." The media in Podgorica said that more than 100 citizens volunteered to donate their blood upon learning of the accident.
