BANJA LUKA Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik has denied that there is no political will in the RS to fight corruption and organized crime. The RS opposition has accused the authorities of lacking political will to tackle corruption. Dodik denies there is no combat against corruption in RS Dodik said that his Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) had done everything to create necessary conditions for combat against corruption and pass a law on the Special Prosecution. “The law has been passed, funds have been secured and all institutional conditions for combat against crime and corruption and the best address are primarily competent institutions and not political parties for possible failure of that fight,” Dodik noted. The RS president stressed that the efficiency of the prosecution and courts was “out of the political parties’ hands”. “Politics cannot do much here. There is the necessary institutional legal framework for the combat and if that combat is not enough, then public should put pressure on the judicial system, primarily the prosecution, to work on the issue,” Dodik explained.
