Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met with Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegovic in Bijeljina on Wednesday. Dacic and Izetbegovic met ahead of the opening of the Janja Lesnica border crossing. Serbian IM meets with Bosnia-Herzegovina official Bijeljina Mayor Mico Micic also attended the meeting which was held in the Bijeljina municipal building. Dacic said that one of his priorities in the future as a prime minister would be development of good-neighborly relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina. After the meeting with Izetbegovic, he said he was fully committed to improving relations between Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, adding that as an interior minister he had had an exceptionally good cooperation with police agencies in Bosnia. According to Banja Luka media, Dacic and Izetbegovic concluded that it was necessary to strengthen the regional cooperation. The two officials expressed their satisfaction over the opening of the new border crossing that will allow Bosnians from the village of Janja to get to their properties that are located on the other side of the Drina River. “This is an example how problems can be solved,” Izetbegovic stressed.
