Montenegrin PM Igor Luksic recently made a diplomatic protocol error when he congratulated Sweden on the country's statehood day. In the same message, Luksic also wished success and prosperity to - Denmark. Montenegrin PM in Scandinavian dilemma Local media in Podgorica are reporting that the Montenegrin head of government sent this message to his Swedish counterpart: "On the occasion on June 6 -Statehood Day of the Kingdom of Sweden, on behalf of the government and the citizens of Montenegro, and on my personal behalf, I wish to convey our most sincere congratulations and wishes of success and further economic, social and overall prosperity of friendly Denmark." The Montenegrin government website - which published the message - later corrected the mistake, writes the daily Vijesti. The media also noted that protocol errors "happen often" to Montenegrin officials. Recently Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic congratulated "April 4, Municipality Day" to the residents of the town of Ulcinj, notwithstanding the fact that they marked the day on April 7.
