Bosnia-Herzegovina “may lose visa-free regime” The daily claims Brussels is considering all measures contained in the control mechanism for the visa-free regime which were introduced right after the opening of European borders. The shocking warning to the Bosnian authorities came from the recent EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs. On Wednesday, the Sarajevo daily wrote about the wave of asylum seekers from Bosnia-Herzegovina who were flooding into Belgium, and had Brussels up in arms. In an urgent and confidential letter to the Bosnia-Herzegovina Security Ministry and Foreign Ministry, Bosnia-Herzegovina Mission Brussels adviser Muaz Dedajlic wrote about the reasons why the EC was threatening to reinstate visas. “The people we've talked to said the EC has bad news for Bosnia-Herzegovina. In a very short time, Bosnia-Herzegovina has gone from a country which had the best image regarding obeying the rules of the visa-free regime with the EU, to a country which has the second highest number of asylum seekers, after Macedonia,” Dedajlic pointed out.
