Franc Kos has admitted before a court in Sarajevo that he participated in the 1995 Srebrenica executions. However, Kos, who is a Slovenian citizen, denied involvement in committing genocide, according to media reports in Slovenia. "There isn’t a single piece of evidence that he participated in preparing the plan and that he knew of the plan of the execution until he arrived there," his lawyer was quoted as saying, and adding Kos was "just an executioner, who probably would not be among the living had he refused to participate in the killings". The trial continues on December 17. Kos was arrested on April 19, at the Croatian-Serbian border and extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which issued an international warrant for his arrest over the Srebrenica crime.
