Serbian flag on the former Serbian Embassy building in Cetinje was burned last night. Police have detained F.M. (19) who admitted burning the Serbian flag at the Ethnographic Museum. Serbian flag torched in Montenegro Criminal charges will be filed against the suspect for damaging reputation of a foreign state. Montenegrin parliament speaker Ranko Krivokapic said that somebody wanted to destroy Montenegro’s memory of great state-founder Petar Petrovic Njegos by torching the Serbian flag in Cetinje. “It doesn’t suit somebody that Montenegro is going back to its roots and perpetrators should be looked for in various places,” he stressed. He said that he was convinced that such provocations would not be successful. Serbian flag and flags of all the countries which had their embassies in Cetinje during the time of Montenegrin King Nikola were put up as a part of central library’s exhibition regarding 100th anniversary since Montenegro became kingdom.
