Russia believes it is necessary to end the mandate of international high representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina as soon as possible. This is according to the country's ambassador in Sarajevo, Aleskandr Botsan-Kharchenko, who told the media in Banja Luka on Wednesday that both Bosnian politicians and the international community should support this outcome "more efficiently". Russia wants "end of high rep mandate" After the recent democratically conducted elections, the international community must decide quickly on changes to its presence and activity in Bosnia, said the diplomat. "I expect overall more domestic dialogue and understanding," Botsan-Kharchenko told reproters after his meeting with RS Assembly Speaker Igor Radojicic. Commenting on a statement made by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that "any kind of secession is out of the question in Bosnia", Botsan-Kharchenko said that Russia agreed, and respected Bosnia's sovereignty and integrity. But the diplomat also noted that his country was one of the guarantors of the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the 1992-95 war, and that "the two things are very much related - respecting the Dayton Agreement and the entity arrangements and powers". Botsan-Kharchenko also stated that it was possible that high Russian officials would pay a visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina after new authorities had been set up there.
