Croatia has indicted seven former members of the Croatian Army 7th Guard Brigade with execution of six Serb prisoners of war. The six were killed in Bosnia, in September 1995. Indicted Croat soldiers released The prosecution demanded an extension of custody for all defendants because of the gravity of the acts with which they were charged, the Croatian State Attorney's Office announced on its website. But a Zagreb court decided to release them from custody on Monday. They will likely be free until the start of the trial, said reports. All the accused members of the unit, known also as Pume, have been in custody since October 21, 2009, when they were arrested. According to the indictment, the accused executed the prisoners of war by order of the then Brigade commander Ivan Korada, who allegedly issued the command in the presence of several witnesses, after which the prisoners were killed with fire from automatic rifles.
