Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen said that the process of exchanging ambassadors between Podgorica and Pristina will take time. ”First a decision must be made to open an embassy, either on a residential or non-residential basis, then there is the process of choosing the candidates, then the process of looking for an agreement that will last several months,” Rocen told TV IN. "Exchange of ambassadors takes time" He explained that after an agreement is given, six months to a year could pass before the ambassador is sent to the country. Rocen said that he believes that the legal status and situation of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo will be taken care of by then, which Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic insists on. Rocen said that establishing diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Kosovo is legitimate and that “there were no disagreements or compromises, which some were hoping for.” He said, however, that there were differences in opinion between some of Montenegro’s senior officials, but that “everything is going according to plan and the government is leading its foreign policies.” “There were no arguments or compromises, only differences in views regarding timing and dynamics,” he said. Regional media reported earlier that Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and President Vujanovic had a difference in opinion regarding the process of establishing diplomatic relations between Podgorica and Pristina.
