Hungarian police used tear gas on Saturday in Budapest to disperse a demonstration of the outlawed neo-fascist Hungarian Guard. More than 200 people were also arrested. Hungarian Guard members arrested Among them was Jobbik party leader Gabor Vona, MTI news agency reported. The Guard was set up in 2007 by Jobbik – the party which managed to win almost 14 percent of the vote in the recent EU parliament elections in Hungary, securing three seats. Previously this week, a court in Budapest decided to disband the Guard which was formally registered as an association set up to promote culture and tradition, but was essentially aimed against the Roma minority in that country.
