“Exchange of ambassadors natural”

U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Roderick Moore says that an exchange of ambassadors between Montenegro and Kosovo should not harm relations with Serbia. “I think that it is completely natural for two neighboring countries that recognize one another, as Montenegro and Kosovo do, to exchange ambassadors,” Moore said. “Exchange of ambassadors natural” He said that the U.S. supported good relations between Podgorica and Belgrade, adding that there was a certain level of tension at diplomatic level between Montenegro and Serbia, but that relations at lower levels were fairly good. Moore said that many people from Montenegro received healthcare or studied in Belgrade, while many Serbian citizens visited Montenegro as well. “I think that things are moving ahead and I am hopeful, especially after the meeting between Presidents Boris Tadic and Filip Vujanovic on May 18, in Belgrade. I hope that there will be a complete normalization of relations between the two countries soon,” the U.S. ambassador said. He said that Montenegrin citizens could be proud that their country had forged good relations with all the countries in the region. “The U.S. appreciates the constructive role that Montenegro has in that regard,” Moore said.
