Prime Minister Ana Brnabić assessed today that after the arrest of a criminal group from Belgrade, the danger to the life of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has not passed because, as she said, "the masterminds are still at large."

"We had certain knowledge. I talked about those findings before. We have always tried to ensure that Serbia informs our public about this in the most responsible way. There is a group of media, but also a group of analysts paid by various tycoons in Serbia, who every time we talked about it and presented some evidence, presented the knowledge we received from our European partners, and officially from Europol institutions, they made fun of it. They made fun of it, they talked about how we use it for political purposes, therefore, they minimized that danger in every possible way, which additionally opened up space for something like that to intensify," said the Prime Minister of Serbia.

As she says, what she told us last week and what she repeated today is "can we hear one apology, at least a single apology from people who feel that they are in any way responsible for what they say or what they place on their media, analysts or as any public figures".

As she pointed out, they had knowledge about it.

"Once again, I deeply thank all the members of our security service because they did everything in their power to protect the life of our President Aleksandar Vučić, and we did that successfully, but also to his family members, because today we hear that they were also in serious danger. We knew it, we talked about it, but we never heard about it more clearly than now. We are grateful to our partners abroad who worked with us," said Ana Brnabić.

She pointed out that the danger to President Aleksandar Vučić has not passed. "I have to underline. Those who ordered this assassination are still at large, they are beyond the reach of our state services. Whoever wants to destabilize Serbia, whoever wants to see Serbia return to the past, will strike first at Aleksandar Vučić, and unfortunately that is the easiest option for many who want Serbia to be a weak country," she said.

For TV Prva, Brnabić called shameful the opposition's questions about why the domestic security services did not react earlier if they were aware of the intentions of that criminal group.

"When someone asks me why we didn't do anything when we had knowledge, I always ask 'What do you mean we didn't do anything'? First of all, we managed to save the life of Aleksandar Vučić, we managed to protect his family. It is a continuous struggle. The struggle has not ended and it will not end. We have fulfilled the main goal, the second goal is to bring those people into custody, so that they can be convicted... It is a shame that they ask such questions, as we managed to protect Vučić," she said.
