The government withdrew the Law on Expropriation from the Assembly

This is stated in the announcement of the Government.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia will analyze whether amendments to the Law on Expropriation are necessary and, if it is determined that the Law needs to be changed, it will do so with a broad public debate that will include the professional public, professional associations, business representatives and civil society.

At the same session, the government proposed to the National Assembly amendments to the Law on Referendum and People\'s Initiative, in Articles 7, 20, 43 and 44. The mentioned articles refer to the certification of signatures, representatives of the authorized proposer in the referendum body calling a referendum.

The government\'s proposal abolishes the fee for the verification of signatures, and enables the representatives of authorized nominators to be part of the body for conducting the referendum.

Also, according to the proposal, it will not be possible to call a referendum on the same issue in less than four years, and that the Assembly of Serbia will not be able to make a decision different from the one confirmed in the referendum within four years.

Let us remind you, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, will speak about these laws in an extraordinary way from 6 p.m., and you can follow the broadcast on TV Prva.
