The president of the provisional Kosovo institutions, Hasim Thaci, has met with political representatives of Albanians from the south of central Serbia.

There will be no partition, says Thaci

"There will be no partition of Kosovo, and a legally binding agreement after the end of the dialogue will be signed between two independent states," Thaci told a press conference.

Asked whether his meeting with Albanian political leaders from the so-called Presevo Valley had to do with a future "exchange of territory" which is being increasingly publicly spoken about, Thaci said that he carefully listened to the demands made by party leaders from three municipalities in the southern part of central Serbia - Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac - and that while there was "some concern about their status" - it has "nothing to do with any kind of partition of Kosovo."
