"Both Ugljanin and Pacolli are Serbian citizens"

"Both Ugljanin and Pacolli are Serbian citizens"

Dacic told Belgrade newspaper Vecernje Novosti on Thursday that while Ugljanin was a member of the Serbian government, "nothing bothered him, he was satisfied."

"As soon as he lost his position in the government, he became the opposition to his own state," Dacic said.

The invitation to Pacolli and the manner in which he was addressed is a move "directed against Serbia, which is fighting in these difficult moments to preserve its territory," the minister stressed.

"And let the authorities investigate whether there is any basis there to launch some (legal) procedure. As far as I'm concerned, both Ugljanin and Pacolli are citizens of the country whose chief of diplomacy is me. And everything we've been doing lately around (revocations of) Kosovo's recognition leads me to think Pacolli will soon be a minister only to Ugljanin," Dacic said.

In a statement reported earlier in the day by Beta agency, he addressed the same topic to say that Serbia is a civilized country and that state organs will decide about Pacolli's visit to Novi Pazar in accordance with the law.

"I would be malicious if I were to say that if Pacolli tries to come to Novi Pazar, he will fare like Marko Djuric, but that will not happen because Serbia is a civilized state," Dacic told reporters, referring to the brutal arrest of Djuric in Kosovo in March.

The minister also said that Pacolli's visit is not within his jurisdiction, and that other state organs will decide on it.

Dacic added that "political negotiations are taking place in Brussels, not in Novi Pazar."

"I see Ugljanin's invitation as a provocation, whose goal is to make Serbia react strongly," Dacic concluded.
