US "should respect legitimate interests of Serbia"

After the meeting, Dacic said that the talks were very complex and that their focus was on finding a common interest between the United States and Serbia.

Bearing in mind the friendship that has lasted over centuries and the long tradition of diplomatic relations, I insisted on how to find the minimum of common interests, if we cannot find the maximum, in order to jointly contribute to the stability of our region, Dacic pointed out.

In that sense, the meeting with Mitchell was of great importance, the minister noted and voiced hope that he will visit Serbia next year.

Serbia has a constructive approach, it wants to contribute to the stability of the region, but wants its interests to be respected too and to achieve a just and lasting solution for all problems in the region, especially for the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, Dacic concluded.
