"Appointment of Stefanovic jeopardizes national security"

The Movement of Free Citizens says <a href="https://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2017&mm=11&dd=07&nav_id=102740" class="text-link" target= "_blank">the appointment of Nebojsa Stefanovic</a> as coordinator of Serbia's security services poses "a danger to national security."

"Appointment of Stefanovic jeopardizes national security"

Reacting to President Aleksandar Vucic's decision to appoint the interior minister to his this additional new role, the PSG assessed that security services are being "rapidly transformed into a classical political police for protecting the ruling party, and for fighting against internal enemies."

"Security services in a democratic country serve to protect national rather than party interests, while a coordinator of these services must be a person of the state, not of any party," the PSG said.

The movement added within a few years, Stefanovic manged to go from being "Nebojsa from Belgrade" to the highest position in the national security structure.
