Brnabic assessed that the arrival of the European Parliament president in Serbia with a delegation of investors from the EU in late January next year will be a strong signal of support for further economic reforms in the country, assessing that this is good news for the citizens of Serbia.

The prime minister pointed out that in our country, in terms of economic reforms and fiscal stability, much has been done during the previous government's mandate, and that the task of this government is to work on further economic growth and reforms.

She said that now it is necessary to focus on the rule of law and judicial reform and expressed gratitude to the EU for the sectoral budget support in the field of public administration reform and education.

Serbia is a strong and credible partner of the EU in security policy, Brnabic reiterated, pointing out that the joint forces of the Serbian police and military have proved this in the protection and control of the borders.

"We prevented 20,000 illegal migrants from entering Serbia and continuing their path to the EU," the prime minister said and expressed gratitude for the understanding and attitude of the EU that Serbia has given one of the best examples when dealing with the migrant crisis.

Tajani announced his visit to Serbia in January next year, as well as a meeting of Serbian and European companies aimed at improving economic cooperation between the EU and Serbia, stressing that the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans are common goals of the European Parliament and countries of the region.

"We are not linked only by geography, but also by history, culture and the common roots. The European Union is our common homeland. I am convinced that your future will be in the EU," he stated.

The EU sees Serbia as a sincere and responsible partner and a candidate for its next wave of enlargement, Brnabic said in Brussels at the end of her two-say visit, Tanjug reported.

Brnabic said the visit to Brussels was aimed at sending a clear signal that European integration was Serbia's top political priority.
