Mladic "unlikely to be released to Serbia for treatment"

Rasim Ljajic says there has not been any formal request to the government to send guarantees to the Hague Tribunal <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/world.php?yyyy=2017&mm=08&dd=30&nav_id=102199" class="text-link" target= "_blank">to release Ratko Mladic to home treatment.</a>

Mladic "unlikely to be released to Serbia for treatment"

"In principle, the government, in all previous cases, whoever it was about, gave guarantees either for temporary release until the beginning of the trial, or for release for medical treatment," he said.

"In extremely rare cases and situations, the Hague responded positively when we speak about the requirements and reasons for treatment, since they consider the Dutch health system to be sufficiently competent and equipped to provide adequate health care," Ljajic said.

"Therefore, expectations should not be too high from such requests, since the chances of their realization are almost reduced to a minimum," he continued.

Ljajic concluded by saying that the state will "always give guarantees, but such guarantees are limited because the tribunal is deciding, not Serbia."
