Deputy PM and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic was in Moscow on Tuesday where he met with Russian Minister of the Interior Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

The two officials "spoke about the continuation of training and exchange of experience of police officers from the two countries, and it was proposed that this cooperation be intensified, especially in the field of training of specialized units for the fight against illegal drug trafficking."According to a statement, Stefanovic said that "many important issues were discussed, primarily in the field of the fight against terrorism, but also organized crime, because only by working together can we deal with these challenges."
One of the topics of the meeting was also the issue of security and measures that the Russian Federation is taking in order to secure the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will be held next year in that country, as well as the possibility of sending Serbian police officers to secure that event, the Serbian government said.
Stefanovic, who is on a two-day working visit to Moscow, and the commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie, Goran Dragovic, visited "the most elite unit" within the Russian National Guard - the Operational Purpose Division Dzerzhinsky, when Stefanovic also spoke with deputy commander of the National Guard, Oleg Borukayev.
