According to the Serbian government, Brnabic "pointed out that the goal of the government is to revive the economy and reduce unemployment, on which it has been working thoroughly for three years now," and added that "only an economically strong and stable Serbia can be a member of the European Union and share European values."

CoE officials "praised Serbia's progress in European integration, especially in the efforts to implement Chapter 23 on the rule of law, but stressed that the state must make more efforts to improve media freedom, the fight against corruption and the rule of law."

It was also emphasized at the meeting that "one of the important tasks of this government is the reform of the education system and decentralization, for which Serbia has great support from this organization," a statement said.

Brnabic "stressed that she is very proud of the fact that there are 26 national minorities in Serbia, and that laws that provide a high level of respect for minority rights are in force," and thanked the Council of Europe for its support, saying that she "believes the new Serbian government will continue its intensive cooperation with the organization."
